Before the members of Monmouth University's class of 2001 toss up their mortarboards, they'll be treated to a commencement speech by well-coifed rocker Jon Bon Jovi.
Bon Jovi, who worked as a janitor in his cousin Tony Bongiovi's Power Station recording studio after he graduated high school, will receive an honorary degree at the Long Branch, New Jersey, school's private graduation ceremony on May 16, according to a spokesperson for the institution.
The singer grew up in nearby Sayreville and spent what would have been his college years plugging away on the Jersey Shore with his band.
