(5/25/01, 5 p.m. ET) -- Bon Jovi has been tapped to perform on the second annual Macy's 4th Of July television special airing live on NBC from 9 to 10 p.m. ET on July 4, according to the bands official website (bonjovi.com). The band will perform "One Wild Night," and it is the only musical act slated to appear on the special, which has a theme of "Voices Of Liberty" this year.

The show will feature a celebrity host still to be announced, and it is also scheduled to feature patriotic readings from actors such as Martin Sheen, Kelsey Grammer, Gary Sinise, and Angela Bassett, among others. The event will also feature the traditional fireworks display over the East River choreographed to music. One of the songs that will be used in the program behind the fireworks will be Bon Jovi's hit single, "It's My Life."
