The 2002 Winter Olympics get an infusion of musical star power with the addition of nightly concerts. Not only can sports fans watch the world's greatest athletes, they'll also have the opportunity to catch some of the hottest acts around.

The Dave Matthews Band, Foo Fighters, Barenaked Ladies, Sheryl Crow, Smash Mouth, Brooks & Dunn, Train, Creed, Marc Anthony, *NSYNC, Martina McBride, and The Temptations are just some of the headlining and support acts that have been announced. The artists will perform a series of 16 concerts, starting February 9 and ending February 25.

The concerts will be held at the Olympic Medals Plaza in Salt Lake City are free. Ticket distribution will take place at Smith's Tix outlets on January 10, 14 and 15, starting at 7 a.m. The process for obtaining the tickets will be announced at a later date.

The Hallmark Olympic Celebration Series - the official title of the concerts - is separate from the opening and closing ceremonies, which will feature performances by *NSYNC, Christina Aguilera, Harry Connick Jr., Bon Jovi, Charlotte Church and Josh Groban.
