FROM MTV UK:

Bon Jovi performed for their smallest European audience in 10 years at the Shepherd's Bush Empire on Wednesday, September 18. The gig, the first of its kind in the world, was broadcast live to 20 UK cinemas and was streamed live over the web in 63 countries, as well as being broadcast by several radio stations.

The band played a greatest hits set, including classics 'Livin' On A Prayer' and 'Bad Medicine', interspersed with tracks from their new album, 'Bounce', out on October 7. The show's encore was one of Bon Jovi's biggest hits, 'Keep The Faith'.

At a press conference earlier in the day, singer Jon Bon Jovi said that the tone of 'Bounce' had been influenced by the September 11 attacks. "Obviously the whole of the American consciousness was shaken when terrorism first arrived on our shores on September 11. We had to write songs about it, we live there. It's our backyard so it's hard not to do that."

He added that the band hadn't let the terrorist attacks stop them from playing the style of music they love. "Bon Jovi has always had this optimistic thing. People are happy to wrap their arms around optimism," he said.
