New Jersey boys Bon Jovi have proved that they have not slowed down one bit with the release of their ninth studio album, Have A Nice Day. The album debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 sales chart this week, moving 201,881 units - their most ever in a debut week. It tops their previous first-week best of 159,000 units for Bounce in 2002.

"Bon Jovi's record-setting first week sales for Have A Nice Day is proof that there is no substitute for having the most loyal, steadfast fan base in the world on your side," says Island Records President Steve Bartels, who also serves as COO/Island Def Jam Music Group. "At the same time, the IDJ staff across the country and around the world has pushed open every door to insure that the new album's exposure would be second-to-none in Bon Jovi history. All the elements came together and the results are the talk of the industry in North America, Europe and Asia. Rock lives!"

Indeed, the album had a huge first week all over the world, not just in the U.S. It was certified platinum overnight in Japan, and enters at #1. It also debuts at #1 in Australia, Holland, Austria, Germany and Canada, and #2 in the U.K., while the single “Have A Nice Day” is #6 on the Billboard Europe chart and #14 most-played on the European airplay chart. Overall, the single is Top 10 in Australia, Austria, Germany, Holland, Italy, Japan, Norway, Spain, Switzerland and the U.K.

A special deluxe DualDisc version of Have A Nice Day marks the first DualDisc ever issued by the Island Def Jam Music Group. The DVD side of the disc contains five songs from a 2004 concert in Bon Jovi’s home state of New Jersey, as well as the “Have A Nice Day” video and an EPK that takes you behind the scenes.

Meanwhile, the first batch of dates for the Have A Nice Day tour have been announced. So far it will run from November 2 in Des Moines to January 23 in Toronto, including two-night stands in New York City (Nov. 28 & 29) and North Jersey (Dec. 19 & 21). More U.S. dates will be added. Additionally, Bon Jovi will be the first band to play at London's new Wembley Stadium in June of 2006.
