"Keep The Faith" Review 21 May 2000
The New E.R.A

A review by J. Jack Flash

Keep The Faith was bands comeback- album after 4 years of silence and solo albums. With this Bon Jovi finally showed theyīre a world class band and that theyīre gonna be around for a long time. Ratings from 1-10.

1. I BELIEVE
Great opening track. I like Jon in here. Strong beat and catch. Reminds a little bit of Blood On Blood. After hearing this you know itīs going to be a great album.
8/10

2. KEEP THE FAITH
The title track is a fantastic song. The unbelievable beat catches you right away. Great lyrics. Ticoīs bouncing drumming is best here. Richie is also great, as well as Alec. Good track to hear live. Along with Dry County the best track on the abum.
10/10

3. IīLL SLEEP WHEN IīM DEAD
This is THE PARTY song. Ticoīs drumming is again best. Just catches you better than anything. You just canīt forget that chorus. People have said itīs a good dancing song, but... well itīs still a rock song and I couldnīt imagine myself dancing with this any more than with Bad Medicine. Sleep is a great song and also very good to hear live.
9/10

4. IN THESE ARMS
A rocky lovesong. Starts as a ballad but after a while it turns out to be too rocking to call a ballad. David has here helped with the lyrics. There arenīt too many songs where he has contributed. A good song definetly but not one of the bests of the album.
8/10

5. BED OF ROSES
A mighty lovesong. A truly BIG ballad, I think itīs the best lovesong they have ever done. Richies guitar in the start is very impressive. David is great also, and Jons lyrics come straight from his heart. A beautiful song.
9/10

6. IF I WAS YOUR MOTHER
A nice heavyrock song. Those big crowd noises are good. Funny lyrics; a guy asking his girlfriend would you always love me if I was your mother??!! I like this one, itīs not bad at all.
7/10

7. DRY COUNTY
A real mighty, epic song lasting almost 10 minutes. Jon has written great lyrics. It has fantastic atmosphere troughout it. Davids piano is very good here. Incredible (and very long) solo by Richie in the middle. This is one of my all- time great favorites of Bon Jovi production.
10/10

8. WOMAN IN LOVE
Another party song. True rocknīroll. Has the same spirit as Sleep When Iīm Dead, but I donīt think itīs nearly as good.
6/10

9. FEAR
A nice and short heavyrock song. Has kinda scary atmosphere. A good song again, but not the tops of the album. Maybe the weakest track on the album.
6/10

10. I WANT YOU
Another ballad of love. Only big lovesong that hasnīt been released as a single. I donīt think itīs so great one, nothing compared to Bed Of Roses. 6/10

11. BLAME IT ON THE LOVE OF ROCKNīROLL
I guess the title of this song explains why they are doing music. Lyrics are kinda telling about themselves. Another song of real rocknīroll. Truly great piece.
8/10

12. LITTLE BIT OF SOUL
A true jamming song. Real fun troughout. It just gets better and better with time. A great non- serious song.
8/10

13. SAVE A PRAYER
The bonustrack is a really strange song. It starts with no music, just handclappings and weird crowd noises in the background. Then it changes to something really different. I hate those robotic vocals. I donīt like them in any music. Just a weird song. I donīt like it very much.
5/10

OVERALL
Keep The Faith is Bon Jovíīs best album (Crossroad isnīt of course counted) along with These Days. What can you add to that? Great from start to finish, as you can see from the ratings.
