"Slippery When Wet" Review 17 November 2000
Another Metal Masterpiece

While not as rangy as "New Jersey", deffinitely one of the best rock albms of the 80s

A review by Maria / FugaziChiQ@jovimail.com

With two number one hits on the disk ("You Give Love a Bad Name" & Livin' On a Prayer") how could the boys from Jersey go wrong. and they don't. While there's not as much diversity of musical style on "Slippery" as on the follow-up album, New Jersey; with it's country and blues influences: "Slippery" is perfect Bon Jovi rock-n-roll, at it's finest.

David stands out fabulously on the keyboard on the opening track, as well as "Bad Name", and Richie's mouth-moog on "Livin'" added what became something of a Jovi trademark (they use it again to full effect on "It's My Life" from Crush).

Jon's vocals are edgy and wild as usual, and the lyrics are classic "Romantic Rock".

All in all, another Jovi classic. And unlike some bands of their era, Jon and the boys continue to add classic albums to their collection.... some 13 years later.
