"One Wild Night: Live 1985-2001" Review 8 June 2001
It's pretty good

A review by Jim

I was excited when I heard that this album was coming out. I anticpiated the date, but after reading some of the reviews, I was somewhat hestitant. However, being the big fan that I am of Bon Jovi, I figured it couldn't be that bad. I bought it and I wasn't too let down, but I felt as though it wasn't anything new - meaning that it was like listening to the crush tour (3 songs were taken from that concert and I own the video) plus these guys really pump up the songs when they do them live but here they released the version that was similar to the original album release. I think that the guys should have let the world see and hear how they can rock. I love going to their concerts for this reason. The albums are great, but they take them so much further live and this was not displayed much. It only happened occasionally on OWN Live. Rockin' in the free world was great and I was really impressed by how much better In and Out of Love was on this Live album than on 7800 degrees. I think "I don't Like Mondays" shows a lot of talent in the band and that is why it is on. It was put together with an obvious talent to be jealous of.
I would recommend this album to anybody. I don't regret buying it. If you want to really hear the guys rock, get a copy of "Live from London" and/or "Crush Tour". I personally prefer the London concert more. It is a little bit more of a party than the Crush Tour concert. Jon lets go a little more and Richie seems to be enjoying himself more as well. Tico and Dave do a great intro on Lay your hands on Me as well.
