"One Wild Night: Live 1985-2001" Review 12 July 2003
One Wild Night Indeed!!

Incredible Live Album

A review by TyShinji / Tflwilson@aol.com

The first Bon Jovi song I ever heard was "Blaze of Glory" my freshmen year in high school. Since then, I have been a fan of the band. So, I don't exactly remember how I heard about this album, but me being so new to the band, it just seemed so right to purchase it and found out what the band was all about. As it turns out, what I heard was something I was entirely unprepared for. From the time I first put that album in my stereo to the time I finished listening to the "One Wild Night" studio remix, I was on a complete thrill ride. I recently read the staff review of the album, and I must say I disagree with it to some extents. I understand that the album doesn't encompass the true concert experience, but then again, neither does KISS's live album, I believe is entitled "Alive". No, instead, One Wild Night 1985-2001 only gives the listeners a small taste of what being a Bon Jovi concert is like, and what a way to do it! "Runaway", "In And Out of Love", and "Just Older" are the best tracks on the album. I'm a little disappointed that Slippery When Wet monopolized the album, but still, the mixture of album songs and rare tracks is good. The one thing I did agree with the staff review is "I Don't Like Mondays". I personally could have done without that song. It's in between "In And Out of Love" and "Just Older", and I feel something better should have been put there, like "Lay Your Hands On Me". But collectively, the album does do what it's meant to, it gives the listeners a taste of the full Bon Jovi concert experience, and the music is unbelievable!!
