13 July 2001 - Chicago, IL, USA Concert Review |

Friday the 13th isn't always unlucky.
I've learned all I'll ever need to know about concerts from Bon Jovi-- they're always late, there'll be lots of waiting, and chances are that your seats will never be the best . . . but they're always worth it! Everything was great, as usual, and as they played, they reminded me over and over again why Bon Jovi is my favorite band.
It was friday the thirteenth, but not necessarily unlucky, and again, the guys gave their all. Their music really is that much better live, and as for the setlist, no one could've asked for more. I really love the way they play-- and how they seem to be having so much fun all the time!
They played (correct order, I believe): One Wild Night, Raise Your Hands, You Give Love a Bad Name, Born To Be My Baby, Livin' On a Prayer, Bed of Roses, Stranger In This Town, Keep the Faith, It's My Life, Captain Crash and the Beauty Queen from Mars, Just Older, Wild In the Streets, Blaze of Glory, Lay Your Hands on Me, I'll Sleep when I'm Dead, and Bad Medicine (Shout). Encores were: I Got the Girl, Someday I'll Be Saturday Night, Wanted Dead or Alive, Tequila, and Twist and Shout.
And by the end of that, hands were tired from clapping, legs ached from standing, and voices were straining from the yelling-- but no one could've felt luckier. Thanks for another wild night!
