13 July 2001 - Chicago, IL, USA Concert Review 16 July 2001
One Wild Night!!!

A review by Lori / lori@mikeweis.com

Last week was the 4th time I have seen Bon Jovi and once again they were AWESOME!!! They sounded great despite the sound system at the Tweeter Center, which is lousy. I was in the pavillion in the middle and I couldn't understand what Jon was saying when he was talking to the crowd. Jon's voice was just perfect and he hit every note on every song. The band's energy was just amazing. Jon jumped around the entire time! He had the crowd going the entire time. I don't know how many people fit into the Tweeter Center, but it must have been close to capacity. I thought the song list was great. This was one of the best concerts I have ever seen. The best was Bon Jovi at the Allstate Arena last November. At that show Jon did a little more talking to the crowd and they played for almost 3 hours that night. Dare I say maybe because that show was indoors, the crowd was way more into it than last Friday? I just know how distracting lawn seats can be sometimes. At the Allstate Arena last November, the WHOLE CROWD WAS INTO IT THE ENTIRE TIME!!! That was by far the loudest "fan noise" I have ever heard. Also, last November they just seemed to keep coming back for more. Encore after encore.... Anyway, anyone who saw this show and was dissapionted (I read an earlier post from someone who seemed mad) must not be a true Bon Jovi fan. I have loved these guys since Runaway and they put on a fabulous show every time. I'll never forget the night I saw Robert Plant a few years back and he played for 1 hour and sounded like crap. That was dissapointing.
