16 July 2001 - Detroit, MI, USA Concert Review 17 July 2001
A TWO STORY TOWN

A review by B. Hughes from Detroit

For me here in Detroit it took five years to get to see two Bon Jovi shows. Now I just finished seeing two in two days! But the second show was missing a little spark that the first one had. But lets hand it to the guys from New Jersy they can ROCK with the best of them. Banging out a set close to the night before but with some changes. WILD IS THE WIND was the surprise of the night never seeing them play it before made it even better. Still a little peice was missing, maybe it was the gleem of just hitting the road on a brand new tour. Let's face it Bon Jovi's going on over a year on the road touring a may need a little well deserved time off. But as far as putting out quality music Bon Jovi is in my book second to none. Richie's guitar work was aswome and Tico behind the drums is always money. But I think playing livin on a prayer for the 1,000,000th time is showing. So for all the fans who truely follow the band (anyone who is reading this) you might be able to tell when the guys are getting a little tired. But to the casual fans who only knew a couple of songs they rocked as hard as if it were opening night! They loved it. I can't tell you how many people I heard say that was the best concert I've ever seen. Me I've seen better from them but it being my favorite band I could go and see a whole show of none of their raido hits and still love it! THAT'S THE SIGN OF A TRUE FAN!!!!!!!!!!!
