22 July 2001 - Hershey, PA, USA Concert Review 27 July 2001
Not up to expectations

A review by Shelly

This was my 8th time seeing Bon Jovi. This was not their best show. I would have enjoyed it much more if they played some of their older songs, but they didn't. They played songs from the Slippery when wet album but nothing any earlier. Jon's voice sounded rough. I also didn't care for the way he sang. He would start the lyrics mid-sentence as if he was out of breath to sing the whole lyric. However, the band itself rocked and sounded superb as always! Richie Sambora got to do some singing and had the stage to himself as he sang, "stranger in this town". And he also sang some of the verses in "wanted dead or alive". He has a great voice! All in all, I think the show could have been improved if they had a better stage show and if Jon didn't seem so runned down.
