27 July 2001 - E. Rutherford, NJ, USA Concert Review 1 August 2001
BON JOVI AT HOME - First night

A review by Lauri Richards / laurir2001@yahoo.ca

BON JOVI
GIANTS STADIUM - JULY 27, 2001

The first Giants Stadium concert was surreal. I took some time to look around at the crowd and the New Jersey fans really blow us all away. The boys were home and I think it was a very emotional time for the band and the fans.

The set was the Empire State Building set they used in the UK & Europe - fireworks and all! Biggest surprise of the night - Always!

Orange glow sticks were everywhere during Wanted. Songs throughout the night included One Wild Night, Raise Your Hands, Wild In The Streets, Born to be my Baby, Blaze of Glory, Wanted, Stranger in this Town, I Got The Girl, Bad Medicine, Lay Your Hands on Me, Prayer, Saturday Night, Tequila, Twist & Shout, Bed of Roses, Bad Name, I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead, Keep the Faith (not in any particular order).

Jon was all over the stage, visiting the wings a few times only though, probably because VH1 was taping the show and needed him in the middle area.

At the end, Jon didn’t want to go and sat his ass down on the edge of the stage and wouldn’t leave. The band agreed and then played Tequila & Twist & Shout for us.

At the very end, Jon thanked the fan club for coming and said he’s see us tomorrow.

You just can’t top the Jersey boys at Giants Stadium - it is by far the greatest experience of my life and tomorrow should be even better!
