27 July 2001 - E. Rutherford, NJ, USA Concert Review 1 August 2001
I too ruined a good show. I expected so much more.

A review by Kate

I too, expected something different from a homecoming show. The guys were great, but that was it. (I feel they are always great!) There was nothing special, other than the fans. Everything seemed so mechanical. It seemed like Jon was limited to where he could go, meaning he hugged the left hand side of the stage, and rarely came to the right. Again, it must have been because of VH1 and their filming. I will never see them at such a large stadium, ever. I had very good seats, but if you don't have anything in the first 20 rows, forget it. You'll be using the screen. The crowd was awesome, and Sugar Ray left me speechless. I'm a new fan! If anything, being introduced to Sugar Ray's music, was the only excitement that I got out of this show. He has given so much more at other venues. This was Giants Stadium!!!! Yes, we expect more!!! I think I expected a similiar gig, as in 1989, when Srpingsteen, and special guests came out. Something like that would have been great. Even more talking to the audience would have been great. There was none of that. Basically, this concert appeared to be ALL BUSINESS. I hope I don't offend anyone, I don't mean to. I love this band, however, all the effort it took to get there, not to mention the cost, left me a little sad.
