13 August 2000 - Ludwigshafen, Germany Concert Review 30 October 2000
Incredible...

A review by Bernz

I know, that i am a little late for this review, but yesterday, i saw a record of the zürich-show on tv and remembered the feelings, that came over me at that time. ok, i must submit, that i only joined the concert in ludwigshafen because of my wife, who is bon jovi-fan for 15 years and never had the chance to see them (him!) live. i know their songs, i like some of them, but not as much for joining a concert. that were my thoughts BEFORE the event. after waiting in front of the stadium in the summer heat and then some time sitting on the podium, the first song was fading in. well, i try to describe what happened in this moment... everybody was screaming, standing on the seats, throwing their hands in the warm evening air. the whole stadium inside was moving, so it made me shudder, it was really exciting. there was so much positive energy around, that i had to move and sing along with the others. every song was celebrated, even the new crush-songs were sung by the crowd. some surprising songs appeared on the setlist, but the most impressing was "i'd die for you" after a few words from jon. he thanked the crowd for their support and that they did not forget them since the last record/tour, 5 years ago. after this "thank you", they played this song in a very slow sensitive version and i am sure, that everybody got goosebumps like i did. the absolute highlight of the show! but i can't deny, that the whole show was an experience for me, we had a real good time, the crowd AND the band. i join concerts for 12 years, and there were really exciting one's like metallica `88, slayer `89, cannibal corpse `91 or rammstein `96 but i never experienced such an enthusiastic mood before, with all its facets. after 2 1/2 hours, the concert was finished with some great fireworks and i knew, that it would not have been my last bon jovi-concert.
finally i would like to thank the band for an unforgettable evening and that one of my wife's greatest wishes came true. you rule...
