13 June 2001 - Huddersfield, England, UK Concert Review 12 November 2001
As the lads say: " I'll live while I'm alive and sleep when I'm dead!"

A review by Beck Mars / becktrack3@hotmail.com

The Bon Jovi 'One Wild night tour' At the McAlpine stadium in Huddersfeild, was by far, one of the most electrifying nights of my life! Even before the show started, there was an exellent atmosphere in the Stadium. With about five hours untill the real show hit off, we were entertained by two great supporting acts: Delirious and Matchbox 20 ( If anyone can get hold of there new album 'Mad Season', have a listen, it's superb!)Delirious were an energetic new band from Britain, with a real thirst for the 'Rock Scene', although they did not seem to click with the audience, and on more than one occasion, the lead singer would be left talking to himself! Matchbox 20 however, showed that they knew what to do, and also knew how to come across to the audience, if we had heard their stuff already or not.
However, this was only the start of a mind blowing night ahead of us. As the countdown to the show became nearer, the crew started to set up an amazing stage, made out like the Empire State Building. An enormous blow up statue of the building was set up central behind the stage, with different sections on stage for each guy to his stuff! With the usual show of the bands name up on the giant screens to really get the audience going, we were all more then ready to see what they had in store for us. Their entrance was extremely memorable! Entering from the lift door at the bottom of the building, the guys walked out to see in front of them the loudest audience I have ever heard at a Bon Jovi concert. For a moment I went dizzy with the sheer build up and excitment for the show ahead of me! They opened the show with the smash hit 'One Wild Night'. I have also never before seen the enormous amounts of fireworks that there was ( Nearly a set for each song!) I have to say that I can remember all of that night but at the same time, I can't remember anything at all. The sheer fact that I was surrounded by thousands upon thousands of people, and each one of us enjoying the same thing at the same time. Plus, my idols being right up there infront of me! A feeling I know I will never forget! The best song in my mind was 'Wanted'. It was their national anthem, and when Richies' guitar solo came up, I thought my chest was going to explode!( That song deffinatley had the most fire works!)
It was the longest show I have ever been to, and the guys gave off the impression that they never wanted to leave. Jon even got everyone doing the same dance routine to 'twist and shout' to finish the show off, not to mention a great rendition of 'Tequila'!
Sorry I don't have more to say on the actual night, but as I said before, it was all a bit of a blur!
All I have to say is that if you ever get a chance to see the guys live, go! It will always be a night to remember!
