5 November 2000 - Fort Lauderdale, FL, USA Concert Review 7 November 2000

A review by Sara / QyeenSugarX@aol.com

I have never seen a Bon Jovi concert before last night, but I have to tell you-it totally blew me away. They're absolutly amazing. I've been a fan for years, and you can listen to the CDs day after day, but it just doesn't compare to seeing them live. The lights went down, and we all stood up, screaming at the top of our lungs. They started out showing the boys in an elevator up on the screen, while playing the opening to One Wild Night. Our cheers rose and rose until the elevator doors on the stage opened, and there they stood. Jon was in gold pants and a black leather jacket, and Richie clad in pants that were very cool, but a bit, shall we say-interesting. Tico, David and Hugh also matched with the leather theme. They opened with One Wild Night, and then went in to You Give Love A Bad Name, which got the whole crowd even more energetic then we were. Jon of course was as charasmatic as always, and made a lot of wonderful comments, such as the one he made in Charlotte-"You've been stuck listening to boy-bands, but we have a band-band for you here tonight!" and after telling a long story, declared that the moral was that we "Had him for as long as we wanted him." This filled the areana with shrieks and howls. I had been praying to hear Bed of Roses, and sure enough, they played it. It was so beautiful-and when Richie began his solo, I actually began to cry. Other big moments were Bad Medicine, Lay Your Hands On Me, and I'll Be There For You. When they did Living On A Prayer-the energy was palpable. We all threw our hands up in the air and screemed out the words and knew that we were all there for the same reason-we were on our search for rock and roll, and we found it there. Bon Jovi is rock and roll-they were, there are now, and they always will be.

"These were our words, our words were out songs, our songs were our prayers and prayers keep me strong baby.."
