Back home in Jersey
Tonight's show was awesome. New Jersey fans have just got to be the best. The Goo Goo Dolls opened the show with a set that highlighted all of their biggest hits. "Big Machine" and "Slide" showed just how talented these guys really are, but soon they were getting educated by their forefathers. When Bon Jovi took the stage, the audience went nuts. We were treated to a few surprises, including "Always" and Jon singing "My Funny Valentine". Unfortunately, about half of the fans had no idea what was going on during the latter. Some old favorites ("Blood on Blood", "In These Arms", and "Runaway") were spread throughout and complemented new faves ("Hook Me Up" and "Joey"). My personal highlights were Richie singing "I'll Be There for You" and Jon's intro to "Saturday Night". Richie doesn't get enough credit. Same goes for Tico, who never ceases to amaze with his skill and showmanship.
