13 February 2003 - Atlanta, GA, USA Concert Review 15 February 2003
I got to be in the pit on stage!

A review by Kerry / superkerry@yahoo.com

WOW... what a show. I was ecstatic that TWO of my favorite bands would be playing TOGETHER... so I could not wait for this night.

Goo had an excellent opening set. They played for an hour and really got the crowd going.

There was only about 20 or 30 min. in between Goo and Bon Jovi, which was pretty impressive.

BJ came on stage w/o a really "grand" entrance, but the backdrop was AWESOME-- 3 huge satellites that turned into projector screens in the middle of the first song (bounce). The set list consisted of an even mix of old and new stuff. I about lost it when he played 'wild in the streets' about 3 songs into the show. He got the crowd going NUTS. He played "you give love.." and "livin on a prayer" really early in the show, which was a cool twist.

JBJ was incredibly high energy the ENTIRE time-- That man is in some crazy shape.

The extremely high point of the show for me came towards the end, when they began playing "someday i'll be saturdy night." We had great 1st level seats, right in the aisle. As the song started, my 2 friends and I started going NUTS.. well, we were going nuts the entire time actually. Towards the 2nd verse, a BJ crew guy came up to me and said "do you 3 want to go on stage?" I FREAKED and screamed YES!!! So he grabbed the 3 of us and led us down to the floor, where he gave us wristbands that said "Bon Jovi Group 4." He then led us thru the floor and to the right side of the stage and helped us into the platform/pit thing on the side of the stage. There were about 10 other girls in the pit-- I swear we were the oldest girls in there (And I'm only 20!).

We got to stay in the pit thru "Someday I'll be saturday..", "Capt. Crash.." and "Born to be my baby." We were right in front of David Bryan, who had this huge smile on his face-- he loves his job, obviously. On "Born", JBJ came over to our pit and proceeded to grab everyones hands, with this HUGE grin on his face, singing and all that jazz. He looks even more gorgeous up close. He was wearing extremely tight tan courdoroy pants and these cool silver/black space age looking high tops, lol. He stood on the side ramp in front of us for a good minute, singing to the crowd. It was unbelieveable.

SO, if any of you have 1st level or floor seats.. MAKE YOURSELF KNOWN! We were simply three females in the crowd, singing and dancing to every song. Everyone around us was just kinda standing there, bobbing their heads, so we obviously stuck out (well.. i'm also 5'10, but whatever). So just let everyone know how much you're enjoying the concert, and maybe you'll have the same luck that I did.

He encored with 'Bad Medicine' and 'Shout', which was a blast. This show was INCREDIBLE, and I highly reccommend it to everyone. It was worth every single cent of the $73 I paid to see it.
