23 February 2003 - Atlantic City, NJ, USA Concert Review 24 February 2003
AC SHOW

A review by Bounce / Kuze9920@yahoo.com

I thought the show was awesome. The crowd was electric, and you can tell the band really felt it. Richie singing I'll be there for you was a classic, and David was awesome backing him up. Tico rocked as usual, and poor Hugh was incredible, hitting everything he had to hit, even though he was shown on the video screen for a total of 5 seconds all night! In these arms was the opening encore song, and it was the first time I have seen it in person. The lighting was unreal, and the satelite video screens were a cool touch. I thought that they would have played some different songs in the encore, or near the end, considering it was in Jersey and they had a HUGE following come down from North Jersey for the show. All in all, it was incredible, better than their show at the E Center a year or so ago. It was nice to hear Runaway and Raise your Hands. I would have liked them to have done hero's, but thats just my own request, I cant fault the set list that they played on bit. I totally understand that Jon wasnt hitting the high notes too. It is tough on the voice and since he had a problem in the past, there is no way that he can hit them every night. He needs to save them for the end of the tour (Meadowlands) and more importantly, recording. The Philly show should be something special, since it is one of his favorite stops on the tour (besides GIANTS STADIUM). I would give this concert an A and it was well worth every penny spent (minus losses at the casino!) They just prove that they are the coolest, hard working, most exceptional band in the entire world!!!!
