1 March 2003 - Chicago, IL, USA Concert Review 5 March 2003
Lasers, Lights, and Good Tunes!

A review by LiTtLeRuNaWaY / spooh013@aol.com

Ok. This is going to be quite long and detailed so if you don’t wanna read it, stop now! First off I just wanna put in a good word for the Goo Goo Dolls. Yes I have listened to their music before but this just sealed the deal for me. They’re great. Ok, now to Bon Jovi. It was freekin awesome! First they came out jamming to the new one “Bounce” which is a great jammin tune. Loud and fast, gotta love it. Then they went rite into “Shot Through The Heart” The old ones still kick some serious ass. After that I was expecting “Livin on a Prayer” but no! They went into “Wild in the Streets” which is just another great crowd pleaser. Then they started the opening notes to “Livin on a Prayer” and cranked that one out. Next was the first single off the new album “Everyday” Then “Undivided” which is one of those 9/11 songs but is hard, so I liked it. Then, a personal favorite of mine, “Runaway” God that song kicked ass! I never expected them to play it! “Just Older” came up next and was perfect seeing as Jon’s bday was only a few hours away! Then they did “Keep the Faith” which had the audience going again with the FAITH! parts. “Wanted Dead Or Alive” was next and I just love how Jon sits back and plays while we (the audience) sings the whole first verse and chores. It works so well. “The Distance” wasn’t bad. “It’s My Life” got us all going again, “Misunderstood” is just already over played, but then came “Right Side Of Wrong” which is one of my favs on the new album and it started with about a two minute piano solo. Which David was great at! After that Ritchie gave Jon a little break (he was suffering from a cold) and sang “I’ll Be There For You” which a lot of people didn’t like, but man I have some new found respect for him! He’s an incredable singer! “Hook Me Up” was good. “Someday I’ll Be Saturday Night” also got us jammin again. “Raise You Hands” was awesome! Everyone in that entire place had their hands up in the air! “I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead” was good. And of course, they ended with “Born To Be My Baby.” Now the best part of the nite....singing Happy Birthday to Jon! It was awesome! Then he went into “Always” which was amazing. Then “In These Arms” Then ended the FIRST encore with “Bad Medicine.” The SECOND encore they came out playin “Rock And Roll Music” and “Twist and Shout” and just ended it beutifully. This was one of those concerts a 16 year old chick will never forget!
