9 March 2003 - Washington, D.C, USA Concert Review 12 March 2003
Bon Jovi rocked. Who got it though?

A review by Marios / michaelides_marios@hotmail.com

"The times are a'changing". Where I come from bands like BJ never visit. I grew up with these guys though. With videos and concerts on TV and all that little shit that make "rawk"... rock!
BJ was bionic, Tico was a machine, Richie was stunning and Bryan was doing the coordination. The times you see...
These guys have the touch. They made the cheesy "I'll be there for you" a Bruce Dickinson ballad (why did you have to sing, Richie, why?), they made the computerized songs of Bounce sound like true hard rock'n'roll stories.
Who got it though? Certainly not the screaming girls or their horny boyfriends. The screaming was so loud in there that the band's sound was like a thunder in the middle of the storm. That is one good reason critics hate this band. Because their ego does not let them say that they liked what "that little girl knows". But that's OK. Because "Dead or Alive", "Livin on a Prayer", "Blaze of Glory" and "Dry County" don't come up every day. Unfortunately the setlist was to small to fit them all (after all we have Bounce and Crush to worry about).
But on the other hand, what's the problem? This is what rock'n'roll is about. Screamin' and cryin' and tremblin' and fallin' in love with strangers. You want to hear girls screaming, you want to see horny boyfriends, you want to get drunk and you surely like that hangover. Is what makes you feel special the next day. NOONE has the right to judge audiences and a whole city. Especially, little boys that were hearing "Pearl-Shit-Jam" and suddenly they have an opinion on gigantic groups like BJ and their fans. Beside me, there was a 40-years old couple that was crying when the band played "Livin'on A Prayer". Got it boy?
Who got it? It doesn't matter. Metallica are playing with a bunch of teenage groups. Whitesnake are gone. Scorpions are in the desert. And please don't tell me you know were Guns'n'Roses, Def Leppard and AC/DC are. We all know were Ozzy and Aerismith are though. BJ boys is still here! And is one of the best goddamn' live hard rock bands in the history of music, either we like it or not.
