1 March 2003 - Chicago, IL, USA Concert Review 14 March 2003
LET IT ROCK

A review by GERI ZYCH / ZYCH19@HOTMAIL.COM

I have been a fan for almost 20 years and have seen Bon Jovi everytime they have come to Chicago since 1987. Just when I think they can't get any better they do. From the concert opener Bounce to the encore Twist and Shout Jon and the band had the crowd in the palm of their hands. To sing Happy Birthday to Jon was the icing on the cake. I have read all the current reviews and was just wondering why is everyone so anti-Bon Jovi. Thie band has survived 20 years and are still going strong. They have out lasted many of the 80's bands that came out at the same time. When was the last time Warrant and Posion sold out a 17.000 venue???
These bands can't even do that when they tour together. It seems Bon Jovi is damned if they do and damned if they don't. Critics complain about thier sugary hits from the
80's and then complain when the band grows up and writes songs about September 11th. I guess there is no pleasing some people. I'm also wondering why some of these critics
take the assignment to cover the concert. You obvolously \have heard their music on the radio or have seen a video on VH1 or MTV. You know what you are in for. Next time just stay home. It's just my opinion.
