16 November 2000 - East Rutherford, NJ, USA Concert Review 17 November 2000
The Boys are Back In Thier Hometown

A review by Darren J / djab14@aol.com

I Feel I am one of the Biggest Bon Jovi fans on the planet, but then so does everyone reading this! I thought the show last night really, really rocked, but something seemed off?

The intro through the elevator displayed on the giant screen was amazing as they blasted into "One Wild Night" !! Wow, what an intro!! I was taken back as I was sitting in the first few rows. The band proceeded into the old favorites, Bad Name, living on a prayer, ect. and they sounded fantastic!

All through out the show one thing kept creeping into my mind. Is Richie trying a little too hard to be not the good-looking blonde guy in leather pants next to him?? I am a guitarist and to me Richie is god, let me preface this, but what the heck was he thinking with these outfits??? He was the anti-John and for a good looking guy he really tried to make himself unappealing.

The show continued with Jon really singing at his best, richie ripping the solo's, and the band was tight as usual, but it did seem like more of a Jon Bon Jovi show at times than a Bon Jovi concert, clearly. Anyway I was really excited when John announced they were coming back this summer!!!!! I was a little surprised not to see an Jersey surprises. Did John forget to call Bruce and tell him he was in town????

I have to tell any of you who read this, if you get a chance to catch the boys in a bar type show , like the few they played in jersey before the tour kicked off, do anything and pay anything to get there!!!! No arena tour will compare to these intamte shows. Cant wait till summer 2001!!
