25 May 2003 - Erfurt, Germany Concert Review 28 May 2003
An Amazing night

A review by Choclady / Janaalbrecht@gmx.de

We got to the stadium at 10 o'clock in the morning in hope of a place in the front row But as we later had to find out, getting there early made no difference as the FC arrangements seemed to suck. They changed the arrangements about 3 times and didnt stick to the list that was made in the morning...oh well.

We got third row!!!

Right in front of Richie!! (I was very excited,he looked great)

Live were awesome - they played when dolphins cry & heaven amongst others!! They were a really good support act and the crowd seemed to like them too. One of the guitar players was a bit of a punk, very funny guy. Started jumping up and down. Definately warmed us up after nearly falling asleep!! They finished & everyone got to work on the stage...

Then the music started blairing and the intro seemed to last ages. I felt like our boys would never come on stage but suddenly they were coming up the stairs!! Started (as usual) with Bounce and got the crowd going.

After that its a blur of jumping, singing & dancing... But Jons voice was great!! Richie was really into it & nailed the KTF solo, punching the air afterwards! And Jon did an amazing scream.

Highlights - KTF (probably the longest version ever ), In These Arms (which was amazing), Saturday Night, Wanted (They let us sing the whole first verse) and of course Prayer with the A-capella intro . Another highlight was the electric version of runaway.

For Just Older they made what seemed like a really long break in the middle of the song. The crowd went wild, but Richie and Jon just smiled.

Stage was pretty cool - Videos for Hook me up (Another highlight), bad medicine (with a stripper at the bottom). I guess u would appreciate the light show more at the back.... But it was very impressive nontheless. There were huge video screens moving up and down. And from what i heard from other fans, everybody in the stadium was able to hear and see very well.

On a whole - every member gave it their all - Jon really seemed like he was going for it & there was only one ballad (sung by Richie - "I'll be there for you").... oh and misunderstood.

Would have preferred not to hear Captain Crash, shout, Blaze & Heroes.. but on the whole..

Great!!!!!!!!!!!
