8 June 2003 - Ostend, Belgium Concert Review 9 June 2003
Bon Jovi rocked a bouncing Belgium

A review by >-r€d $h@rK-< / arcki84@hotmail.com

I didn't wrote down the setlist and I also can't remember it very well. I only can say 1 thing: Bon Jovi knows how to rock!!

They started of with Bounce, as usual in this tour, followed by You Give Love A Bad Name and Wild In The Streets. Also Livin' on a prayer, Blood On Blood, Keep The Faith, In These Arms, I'll Be There For You (with Richie on the vocals), Lay Your Hands On me, Bad Medecine, Just Older, etc. passed the stage. They got back to the Slippery When Wet album, not only with Bad Name, Prayer and Wild In The Streets, but also with Raise Your Hands and not to forget I'd Die For You. Jon said that this was a song they hadn't played in 6 or 7 years. You noticed at a mistake (one of the few he makes), he was wrong on the second line of the lyrics. But hey! Every one can make a mistake and he made it very funny be saying: "I f*cked it up already!" But he got back to his lines and played an amasing rock song!
Of Bounce they played Undivided, The Distance and Everyday. Is surprised me they played so little songs coming from the Bounce album. And certainly that they didn't play All About Loving You, their new song.
Also, at 1 time a guy ran over the stage followed by a (slow) security guard. The band finished the song ther were playing and afterward they made some jokes about it, like the guy was Richie's cousin and they wondered he was getting his ass kicked back stage and if he was in their dressing room eating their food and drinking their beer. After Richie did I'll Be There For You, Jon came back on the stage and said he had to say Hey to Richie from his cousin. Richie also gave his "cousin" a very funny and hard name which I can't remember. :-)
There were only a couple of things which dissapointed me:
1. As already said by someone else, there were no songs played of These Days
2. There was only 1 encore and the concert ended rather early (after 2h15)
3. The organisation (that's about the city of Ostend than) wasn't very good. The directions weren't very good sometimes. Like the entrance for the people and the entrance for the people who had a fancard weren't directed. So a lot of people ended up at the wrong place.

Concluding: it was a short but powerfull concert! With a very enthousiastic band who played all their greatest hits.
