13 June 2003 - Munich, Germany Concert Review 16 June 2003
Forget about the acoustic stuff – Bon Jovi just ROCK

A review by Louciel / bluesbabe@gmx.de

“Last time we were here it rained really hard and that’s why it’s just fair when we make it an extra supreme show tonight. We’ll take you one time around the world.”Jon announced after the first songs.

And they kept their promise.

It was the best show one could imagine.
They didn’t play one single acoustic version, it was just pure rock.

Livin on a prayer - the best version I’ve ever heard (Richie on Gibson), Keep the Faith/Sympathy for the devil - a prayer, Everyday - I never thought it would rock like that played live.

Jon apologised that he changed the setlist and then they played Diamond Ring. It was like a thank you for the warm welcome of 70000 people in the Olympiastadion.
The other “real” ballad that evening was Bed of roses which had never really convinced me live but this time they made me sing along (against my will, I have to admit).

Richie’s I’ll be there for you was just amazing. Some were still singing when Jon came back and Richie stood there grinning and proud like a god.
When all sang the last chorus of Undivided without any instruments it sounded so great.

After nearly three full hours we “forced” them to do one last one. Jon shook his head saying “no, no”. But he gave up,”okay, you wanted it so” and then they played These Days. There were lighters all over the stadion and I think even the band was impressed of this magical moment (if not we were so!).

At the end Jon had no voice any more. He croaked the last lines.^^

In short: THANK YOU, THANK YOU GUYS FOR THIS NIGHT!

I think I won’t go to a BJconcert again, ‘cause I‘m afraid they can’t repeat this and it would just be disappointing.

I guess I will change my mind when they come for the next tour^^
