22 June 2003 - Glasgow, Scotland, UK Concert Review 24 June 2003
16 years better

A review by jono / milner@tesco.net

I went to see the lads in 1988 at the NEC in Birmingham. It was all the heavy metal fans with long hair and lycra, even the studded belts and chains were confiscated.

How things have changed.....Now the audience was full of middle aged balding professionals wearing Levi's taking their 16 yo daughters.

They were great in '88, and even better now !

They know what their original fans love 'em for and are still happy to belt out the oldies, especially from Slippery When Wet. They're still in their prime.

Amazing that I was 16 when I first went to see them & kids that weren't even born then were coming out singing songs written in the eighties. These guys really are the Rolling Stones of the future. I'll be queing up with the grandchildren in 20 years time !
