92,000 people baking in the sunshine if Hyde Park set the scene for this amazing gig. The support band (Live, as they told us every 2 seconds) were dull, but even they failed to dampen the spirits of the crowd. Everyone was in the mood to party and no-one was left disappointed.
Opening with Bounce and then ripping into Bad Name, Bon Jovi showed that they can rock! I'd never seen them before but it's now nearly a week later and I'm still buzzing from it all.
I cant think of a single thing that was a negative. We loved every last second, right down to the firework display at the end.
Highlights included:
Ray Davies to sing Lola in the encore in the dusk...absolutely perfect.
The whole crowd singing "Dead or Alive" and Jon's ecstatic grin as he looked up.
The ever cool Richie singing In These Arms. (Wonderful)
Captian Crash...being played just when we though they weren't going to play anymore.
Everyone getting down to Twist and Shout.
Also the weather, the atmosphere, the whole damn thing...just amazing. Oh, and Jon in his leathers!!!
Can't wait for them to play here again, I'm going to be there definitley! Best gig ever, best band ever. Bon Jovi rule!! |
