11 July 2003 - Tinley Park, IL, USA Concert Review 14 July 2003
Awesome in all awesome-ness

A review by Meag / walgreens@aol.com

I'm sorry, but I MUST disagree with your post on some points. If you're a guy, I understand your gripes. But as a woman, let me tell you that Jon is THE sexiest man alive. I will go to their shows for the sake of SEEING him, that's how hot he is. Don't get me wrong...they are the best band and I respect their work and them as artists. First of all, the new set was refreshing. I (like many others there at Tweeter) had been to the March concert and had seen their previous set. For their overseas tour, most of their concerts were outdoors. So they built a new set because they were afraid of the satelite dishes falling over. So it was nice to see something new. I do agree on the point that it had nothing to do with their album. They should have tried to tie the set together with the Bounce album. Moving on, you forgot to mention the HDTV screen. 3 words... OH MY GOD. You could see every drop of sweat dripping down his face, every perfectly white tooth in his perfect smile, and every hair on his chest. It was a wonderful surprise, it was SO clear! We were so happy to see a CLEAR screen this time. It was HUGE! The small square screens to the left and right of the stage were puny and fuzzy compared to the set screen. I for one don't care if they miss a note, play something the wrong way, or whatever. They have reached the point where they became respected artists loooooong ago, and now they're just out, having fun. It's great! Also, according to Bon Jovi's rep, they're taking a long time off before recording a new cd and going on tour. They have been in the usa to overseas, and now back to the us of a.

It was a great time. I danced the ENTIRE time. I could not make myself sit down! There was a little more energy when Jon came back, and I did notice that he didn't spend a lot of time bobbing around on the stage, but keep in mind that there was a huge group of fans on both sides, and he didn't have THAT much freedom to move. He also had to go shake hands and kiss people.

Don't diss Bon Jovi, they're just having a great time and hoping everyone else is too! I did! Party on...!
