19 August 2000 - London, UK Concert Review 19 June 2005
A Night To Remember

A review by Richard Galloway

Its been nearly 5 years since I attended this show at the old Wembley Stadium in London in August 2000.

I went with my father and one of my mates and although we were in the nosebleed seats we still had a great night. This was my first time seeing the band ( I have since seen them in 2001 and 2003).

The set was long and challenging with a number of cuts from the then new album CRUSH. I remember the confused looks on a few faces when the band started with a cover of The Clash song London Calling but confusion soon turned to joy as Prayer and Bad Name followed.

Jon was as ever the showman and dressed in a gold suit he conducted the faithful church of Rock and Roll which is the BJ fanbase.

As I say its been 5 years but it still remains a show I was proud to have attended. BJ to play the new Wembley in 2006, don't bet against it.
