This is my fifth time seeing Bon Jovi and I've got to say they've come a long way from the first time I'd seen them as the warm-up act for Judas Priest in 1986. They've gone from unknowns to everything that's rock n' roll. A long way for sure and I've got to say I came a long way to see them in Montreal - a five-year wait and all the way from Winnipeg, Canada.

The process of getting to this particular show of going to Ottawa first where I met my concert companion Joanne after a two-hour flight from Winnipeg and then driving another 2 hours to Montreal (where we got a little lost on the freeways) was so worth it. We literally made it to the show a few minutes before Bon Jovi came on, but once there it was like a dream come true.

The band no longer focuses on huge stage productions (thousand lights, big pyro and costumes) -- it focuses on fun and pumping an audience up on spirit -- that was certainly present Tuesday night. All 15,000 of us readily became deciples of Jon's Church of Rock N' Roll when he promised to save us all and asked us if we're tired of the sport of politics and the politics of sport (Canada just re-elected it's prime minister).

This was easily the longest, most entertaining show I've seen them perform. Jon seems to be a man who really enjoys the stage and he was loving every minute of it in Montreal. He often led to us to believe that he was so fired up that he was actually out of his mind. This became pretty humorous when he was playing Rockin' All Over the World and said, "What I'm I doing playing a Status Quo song in Canada?"

At no time in my natural life did I think they'd top their show for These Days (October 8, 1995) in Winnipeg. My only complaint with this show in Montreal was that they didn't play any songs off that record. They could've played Damned or Something for the Pain to make me happy...but I guess they'll get that chance when they come to Winnipeg!!!!!! Let this be a very strong hint to the boys in Bon Jovi.

Winnipeg is waiting for an amazing concert!
