12 November 2005 - Omaha, NE, USA Concert Review 13 November 2005
Old and New

A review by DeeBee / jovigirl_4ever@hotmail.com

What can a gal of of thirty-something years that has loved Bon Jovi for twenty or something years say about the concert? I loved it....but I didn't love it. Let me explain. After all these years of listening to Bon Jovi, I had never had the pleasure of seeing them in concert. I finally got to see the only blond man in the world that makes my heart flip flop and I was not disappointed. Jon looked awesome. That wonderful smile..*sigh* The energy of the band was contagious and not a second when by that almost the whole audience wasn't on their feet. They sounded exceptional. I however was disappointed with the acoustic renditions of their songs like Blaze of Glory and Always. They totally changed the whole tune of both songs. I'm an old stick in the mud, I want to hear them live just like I hear them on my CDs. And then I was disappointed because they did not play my favorite Bon Jovi song of all time, Lie To Me. I could have however forgotten this little incident, if only Jon had came close enough for me to touch him. There were several groups of people who got to stand right off the sides of the stage and were able to touch him.....I WAS SO JEALOUS!!! I was very pleased with my seat in general. I was pretty close but alas not close enough. I wanted to hear them sing Bells of Freedom, Welcome to Wherever You Are, and Novocaine from their new CD, but I feel there was a good mix of old and new. Anyways to sum it all up. The money was definitely worth every penny. I only hope they come back to Omaha soon and in case they do, would someone please tell me how I can get to be one of those lucky few who got to stand by the side of the stage?????????
