26 November 2005 - Uncasville, CT, USA Concert Review 27 November 2005
Third Time's a Charm

A review by Mike

This is the third (and definitely not the last) time I've seen Bon Jovi live, two of the three at Mohegan Sun Arena, which seats about 8,500 for a concert. The band certainly feeds off the energy generated by the small (but loud) crowd.

We were the recipients of good timing, too, since they had a few days off for the holiday since their last show. But, rusty they weren't.

This show was by far the best of the three i've seen. The energy was phenomenal, the set list better than expected, the stage simple enough and the band was just on.

Jon had it from the start and you could just tell. He fed off the crowd and vice versa. The stage is very simple with a huge HD monitor behind.

The set list was what was posted from the last detroit show with two exceptions...the encore was a bit different, it was I Got the Girl, Someday I'll be Saturday NIght, Treat Her Right and Dead or Alive.

Total time on stage was 2:20.

I honestly can't remember if they played Bed of Roses...because there was too much other excitement. I had read that Jon comes out into the crowd for Blaze of Glory during the acoustic portion...well, when we got to our seats, we saw a platform less than 10 feet from us, covering two seats. No doubt Jon would be there...and he was, for blaze of glory....and with all the buzz and excitement going on as security got into place, i really can't remember if they did bed of roses or not! It was great to have him in the crowd...and better to have him 10 feet away, especially for my wife!

The music was just great....his voice was great. They played a number of songs off the new album and they sounded great. the only song that didn't ahve a huge reaction from the crowd was Radio Saved My Life Tonight...that was probably the song that had the longest line for beer on the concourse.

Those of you in New YOrk...get ready for the show!

And, anyone else, hope to see you back at Mohegan Sun February 1 when the band returns!!!
