21 December 2005 - E. Rutherford, NJ, USA Concert Review 22 December 2005
Great Show!!! Disappointing crowd.

A review by fmkidd

Let’s star this on a positive note. The band was awesome and the show was great. The band gave it their all. Man does this band have energy!! It was great to hear the old stuff like Runaway and especially Blood On Blood. The new version of Blaze Of Glory is the best version I’ve heard live so far. Though I don’t know why they still do songs like Captain Crash or Older when they got Keep The Faith in the bag. It was also cool to see so many songs from the last 2 albums, especially Have A Nice Day, Who Says You Can’t Go Home, Complicated, Last Man Standing, Radio Saved My Life Tonight and Story Or My Life. I was a little disappointed that they added Welcome To Wherever You Are to the setlist, cause I think it’s the worst song on the new album. Again… a great show, I got my moneys worth and some more.

The crowd, on the other hand, was a complete different story. I went to the Madison Square Garden show a few weeks ago and the crowd was so much better. They were all standing in every section through out the whole concert, all stayed until the last song and was very energetic. The crowd at the arena was none of this. The section I was in, 237, was the lamest of them all. Many didn’t stand for the any of the concert. In fact we were asked on two separate occasions to sit down because people from behind us couldn’t see, (guess the bad hips kept them from standing up). A lot of people left before the last song, Wanted! I mean… Come on! There was very little energy towards the upper levels. I wanted to go check out Bon Jovi in their home state because I heard about the “Bon Jovi Pride” in Jersey. It didn’t seem to be there tonight and now I wonder if the Bon Jovi thing is really past it’s prime as the critics tell me. Or maybe it was where I was.

But let me end it with a positive note as well…. Bon Jovi is the best band in the world (live and in the studio)!!!
