24 November 2000 - St. Louis, MO, USA Concert Review 11 December 2000

A review by Buddy Clayton / ozgrandprix1@aol.com

You Guys Rock!

This was my first Bon Jovi concert even though I am a huge fan. And it had to be the best concert ever performed by anyone anywhere. 2 1/2 hours of constant rock and roll where the entire audience was excited. The majority of the crowd (including myself) stood the entire time and Jon, Richie and the boys entertained the entire time. Jon was comedic as well as serious and used the energetic crowd to his advantage. "It's My Life" totally rocked the house as only a rock song does. The new was just as good as the old. The extended "Someday I'll Be Saturday Night" was a awesome crowd pleaser. Jon did a awesome job of being a storyteller as he told of his days in Hollywood and how the boys came to rescue him from the film industry. His reference to the return of the "man band" was totally true. The boy bands suck, it's nice to have Bon Jovi back as the true rock and roll band for the ages!

Overall, the most powerful performance I have, or will ever see. It says something when the 5 hour car ride home is Bon Jovi constantly on the cd player because the energy level is still high from the concert.

Once again, a great mix of new and old. Great rendetions of "Livin On A Prayer," "I'll Be There For You," and "Wanted Dead or Alive." Also, the music off of "Crush" is awesome. "Just Older," "Thank You For Loving Me," "Captain Crash," "One Wild Night," and "The Next Hundred Years," proved that they can still write good rock and roll music.

Of course I will be looking forward to catching a show on the next U.S. tour as this was one of the most awesome things I have ever seen!

PS...the show was totally awesome, but just out of curiousity, how come "Always" and "Bed of Roses," were left off. These are powerful ballads that tell great stories.
