28 May 2006 - München, Germany Concert Review 31 May 2006
Gentlemen - Lets groove!

A review by Cizzi / Cizzi_therocker@hotmail.com

I finally have time to write my review of the Munich concert.
The concert was good, but not amazing. It would have been totally wonderful if the sound hadn't been so terrible bad... It changed from being really good and then go back to really bad... it seemed like the soundengineers were on coffee break... Hopefully it was the terrible rain which had been pouring down all day that made the technique malfunction. I hope so!
But the atmosphere inside the stadium was magical! 80 000 people that really enjoyed the music and show and both Jon and Riche seemed to be in an awfully good mood! :D Especially Jon, oh my God he offered some really good laughs! When Richie should sing IBTFY he said that he had to go and check the score in the Soul game and if he wasn't back in five minutes it'd be because the game was to exciting. :-P
Nickelback was really good!!! Perfect as a support act! Unfortunately they were even more affected by the bad sound...but, they really got the crowd going! And they played Du Hast by Rammstein. :D

I will now review the songs one after one:

1. Last Man Standing 6/10
Don't know if it fits as an opening song... Didn't enjoy it so much but it was okay!

2. You Give Love A Bad Name 5/10
Disappointment... I thought this one would be rocking but oh so wrong I could be, unfortunately. Though for my part it doesn't matter 'cause I hate this song...

3. Captain Crash & The Beauty Queen From Mars 5/10
The ever going waving-song... Only standing and parts of the seated people were doing the wave. The crowd around me sat numbstill... So it wasn't a hit. And Jon's little "speech" in it is always the same.

4. I'd Die For You 6,5/10
It seemed like it wasn't that many who recognized this song... A pleasure to hear it live! But because of the fact that the crowd really wasn't that much into it drags down the grade. Otherwise, I enjoyed it VERY much!

5. Born To Be My Baby 6,5/10
The crowd liked it! And it seemed like the boys hade a lot of fun! :P It was pleasant but maybe a bit early in to the concert? The crowd hadn't gone warm... It probably would have been even better later in to the show. But it was fun!

6. Story Of My Life 4/10
Disappointment... Like it on the cd. But it didn't really prove itself live.

7. I Want To Be Loved - 2/10 (biggest disappointment)
I hoped that I was going to here this one live... But got very disappointed when it got played... :/ It wasn't half as good live as on cd, unfortunately! But there were some really cool light/video effects during this song.

8. Everyday 6/10
Better than I thought live, but a bit overplayed. You've heard it to much; it's as simple as that. Maybe not so good to place it after I Want To Be Loved either because they both have these a little bit "harder" guitars. But it was fun!

9. I'll Sleep When I'm Dead 6,5/10
The crowd was jumping and going nuts! ;D First real up-tempo song that really got the crowd going! Everyone were nuts, I don't think there was anyone who sat down.

10. Radio Saved My Life Tonight 7/10 (wonderful speech (I think it was during this song)!!)
He told us how a guy asked him, "why my songs are so universal. Why all these people love Bon Jovi but we're never in the critics' Top 10. Well, we're all on this little pimple called Earth, together. And we're all the same. And as long as I'm feeling you and you're feeling me, well, we'll all just keep feeling it together..."
The speech:
"He said: What is it about these songs, that are so universe.
And I said: That’s the point. We’re all in this game...called life...together and no matter if you’re German or from Jersey or from Indonesia, Africa or Australia. It doesn’t really matter.
Accept people for there differences and you realize: This little pimple in the universe called earth could be a pretty cool place, it just depends on what you make it, right?"
I actually don't like Radio... but it was okay! I'd have giving it 5,5 if it weren't for the speech, that brought Jon to tears!

11. Wild In The Streets 8/10
The crowd danced, I danced, my sister danced! CRAAAZY! :D

12. In These Arms 8/10 (David sang the intro)
David’s intro was really good! His voice was actually shockingly good! Better than on cd! :) Too bad that they didn't turned up his mic from the beginning only. Otherwise really good!

13. HAND 8,5/10
The crowd was really in to this one! Richie's f'ck yous everytime "Have A Nice Day" came was funny :-P A totally amazing atmosphere! Much better live than on cd, 'cause the feeling became really! A stadiumhit for sure! It is really stucked to your memory!

14. WSYCGH 7/10
It's alright, it's alright! :D Everyone joined in on this one even the ones who hadn't heard it before! It's alright aren't that hard! :D Really fun and a cool It's alright song! :)

15. It's My Life 8,5/10 (the crowd drowned the band!)
Completely magical!!! Actually I don't like IML live at all... But this time oh my God! The crowd were nuts and I don't think I ever heard a crowd sing so loud! If they would have recorded a new live album now, IML from Munich would definitely have to be on it. UNBELIEVABLE!

16. Blaze Of Glory 10/10 (Totally excellent!!! The crowd was on fire!)
WOWWOWWOWWOW how I and my sister enjoyed this song!!!! I've never liked BoG on the cd but now...wowwowwowwowwow.. OMG I'm speechless!!!
Baby, make my final staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand... SHOT down in a blaze of glory.

17. Bed Of Roses 9/10 (Even here the crowd drowned Jon's voice)
Sing-along, sing-along!! :D Everyone complain about the TLFR versions but I thought that this one was really good! The atmosphere in the arena were magic! Everything during this song was magical! It felt liked you were in another world (and I who don't even like Bed Of Roses...but that's the original!).

18. IBTFY 10/10 (Richie sang it!)
The best voice! It can't go wrong! Lots of Woohoo woohoo woohoo really fun and they continued for a long time, several song went by and they would never stop! Completely wonderful! And Richie did the scream!!! :) It'd be enough to say that when Jon entered the stage again the crowed started cheering and everyone started screaming the Woohoos even louder, and he just stood there watching Richie directing the crowd for a few more minutes. Then Richie got quiet and stood beside Jon and enjoyed the moment with Wohooos.

19. Bad Medicine/Shout 9,5/10
Here you got tired, to say the least!!! Wowwowwowwowwowwow! They must have these two left in the setlist! Insanely good and strenuous! :-P Everyone and I mean everyone were up on their toes, dancing and singing along.

20. Raise Your Hands 7/10
The crowd were probably a little bit tired after BM/S but everyone kept on going anyway. Although everyone didn't seem so familiar with the "Raise your hands" part. Jon said a few things and finally got everyone to raise their hands! :D

21. Livin' On A Prayer 8/10
Loved the intro, it was amazing! Even one sing-along! Totally unbelievable pleasant!

22. Dry County 10/10
Amazing solo by Richie!!!!! He made it longer and improvised!!! Just when Jon should start singing Richie pulled this amazing improvised solo.. Jon was a little surprised but then he just stood there enjoyed and watching Richie does his magic. :-P Really funny to see! Jon's voice was actually really good and he just read at the papers a few times. Ticos intro was powerful!

23. Wanted Dead Or Alive 9,5/10 (crowd first vers, Richie second and then Jon)
Really cool with the crowd singing the first verse and you could see how the boys were enjoyed by this.
Richies part were superb, as always! Jon's part was a little week... He couldn't really stand up to Richie's powerful singing before - tough competition clearly. ;) If Jon's part had been better this would have been an evident 10.

24. Someday I'll Be Saturday Night 7,5/10
Hey hey hey :P Really really good live!

25. Keep The Faith 8,5/10 (Jon skipped a vers to celebrate that Souls had won the game! :D)
Junglescreams! :D They are so cool! And it seemed like Jon didn't destroy his voice this time. :) It was funny with all the Soul things (highlights from the game) on the big screen. It also was funny that Jon skipped a vers due to this. :) The crowd enjoyed!

Encore 2
26. Bells Of Freedom 9,5/10
What an unbelievable light/videoeffects there was during this song! OMG! This song was 10 ten better live than on CD!! What a feeling and Emotion Jon showed and put in to the song! If you can see it live sometime, you'll understand.

27. These Days 10/10 (Jon forgot the words :-P)
These Days - the most obvious 10! The crowd loved it, the band loved it! And you could hear it perfect in the subway, 10 minutes away from the arena - impressive! You heard the crowd most of course, they drowned the music and Jon's singing. It was so much appreciated!!! If there is one song that never should leave the setlist - it's this one!
