Manchester 2006
I first clapped eyes on Bon Jovi when I saw them supporting Kiss in about 1985.
On that night I thought they were cr*p to be honest. But they soon won me over and I've seen them a further 8 or 9 times since.
Last night was a good show. Almost three hours with songs from most of their albums with the exceptions being 7800 Fahrenheit and (I think) Bounce.
Highlights were Born To Be My Baby, I'll Be There For You, Bad Medicine (which was odd because I've never really rated that song, a bit cheesey), Wanted, Raise Your Hands (surprising how few people round me seemed to know this one) & a storming Dry County.
A few funny moments with Jon forgetting to introduce David, the "It's Alright" banners during Who Says You Can't Go Home (home made or handed out?) and the "Ride me cowboy" banner.
A few gripes though. The sound could have been louder and was a bit muddled at times. Also, why the additions to the band? I don't think they really add much to the sound but then again I haven't seen them since the Crush tour. Maybe they've needed a boost.
All in all though a very enjoyable show. The first time I've seen them when I've been sober! Maybe I should have booked that hotel room. If I'd had a few, I probably wouldn't have had any complaints.
