11 June 2006 - Milton Keynes, UK Concert Review 13 June 2006
Wow it was better than 2001

A review by Carl / one_wild_carl@hotmail.co.uk

Wow that was amazing, the weather was much better than it was when they played in 2001.

Me and my girlfriend got there about 1.30pm just in time for the fan club line, so we didn't have to wait much got straight in and we had plenty of space near the back of the fan club pit.

First support act were ok a band called spin but they weren't as good as gekko were in Manchester.

Then came Nickelback who once again did a fantastic show, they deserve to be headliners one day Chad was in a great mood despite a little accident during a party the night before. They played some familiar songs such as Too Bad, never again and How you remind me plus some of their newer stuff.

Then came the moment the legends from New Jersey came on, and wow they suprised us by opening with the Neil Young classic Rocking in the Free World which i thought was amazing, then going into the classics you give love and wild in the streets. Richie's hat cracked me up nice that he was in good humour.

Then they had the usual classics, Its my life, just older, Livin on a prayer along with the new stuff Have a nice day, who says you can't go home, Bells of Freedom, Story of my life.

One of the best bits was jon saying how he would finish wembley himself before launching into Bounce, then doing an emotional version of Always before Richie took over and did I'll be there for you, great also hearing David doing some of In These Arms.

Then closing the show off with Blood on Blood, These days and Keep the faith, its a shame they didn't do Unidivided, Bed of roses or Lay your hands on me but with so many good songs its impossible to get them all played.

Only nightmare was getting out of Milton Keynes with so much traffic, luckily we found a back way out and went up the M1 only to see a huge crash the other way, which probably explained why it was so bad, but hey it was such a memorable day that me and my girlfriend will never forget.
