The Only Thing Philly didn't boo at the Ball Park This Year!
In a way, Philly is Bon Jovi's second home. Sure, he'll always be Jersey's second favorite son, but the name he's made for himself in Philly with his successful AFL team(at least, as far as Arena teams go) and philanthropic work has made him a favorite face on the west side of the Delaware. Thus, it's no surprise his resilient tunes strike well with the city of brotherly love.
I'll garauntee this: no one who attended experienced a quicker two hours and fifteen minutes. From 'Saturday Nights' to his teasing closing of 'Livin On A Prayer', which led into a brilliant encore that simply didn't want to end, Bon Jovi knows how to do a live show. One would walk away being convinced you could dislike his album music and still enjoy the concert showings. Some of Bon Jovi's mediocore studio efforts, whether it be the recent 'Story of My Life' or the post-9-11 'Bounce' absolutely come alive on stage. And of course, the hit songs, whether it be 'Bad Name' or an extended version of 'Who Says You Can't Go Home' are an orgiastic feast for the aural senses.
The media around Philly may have made a bigger deal when Springsteen toured here, but I'll garauntee this: Not one concert crowd was louder than the one present Saturday Night. |
