Despite the rain...
|21 June 2008 - Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom Concert Review
This was an awesome show! As always in Glasgow, the weather dictates the crowd....heavy rain = not so up for it crowd, and it always seems that the less the crowd are into it, the less the band are into it. Last time they visited Glasgow, the sun shone all day and it was amaaaazing!
However, despite all this, they still played a great show.
Kicking off with 'rockin all over the world' wouldnt have been my first choice, but I guess they thought that starting with a song by a Scottish band would get the crowd going...and it kinda did!
Lost Highway was a great singalong, and 'Born to be my baby' followed by 'You give love a bad name' were awesome.
The next few songs were a bit boring for me...captain crash, runaway and ill sleep when im dead feat mercy and twist and shout. I hate Mercy with a passion....its so overplayed! So I didnt really enjoy that:( Although Twist&Shout redeemed it slightly:)
Always was a suprising and very welcome inclusion in the set list. In these arms is always a great song to hear live, and a great cover of Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah' was a nice encore.
The highlight of the entire show was, for me, Dry County. It is my all time favourite Bon Jovi song and I had kinda resigned myself to never hearing it live. Ive seen the guys 5 or 6 times now and theyve never played it. So you can imagine my delight when I heard the first few chords:)
All in all, another great show from the guys...I was soaked through by the end of the night....but it was worth it:)
