20 April 2001 - Anaheim, CA, USA Concert Review 21 April 2001
Bon Jovi-1 Mickey Mouse-0

A review by jel

Bon Jovi brought the Pond to a frenzy. The guys could do no wrong tonight...they reminded a sold-out crowd in Anaheim that they still can talk the talk, and walk the walk. Every song was playedd with power, passion, and intensity. The drums deeply echoed, the keyboards were as smoothe as silk, the bass bumped, the guitar hypnotized, and the vocals beefed up the soul. Tonight was a time let loose and not think twice. I give credit to the band, they don't care where you are sitting, you will be acknowledged and they want you in the thick of things...Jon Bon Jovi takes pride in his show, he gives %100, and expects the same. Highlights: the extended version of "I'll Be There For You", Jon Bon Jovi handing over lead vocal duties to the 18,000 fans on "Wanted Dead or Alive"("oh you know this one?", he said), and the festive finisher "Twist&Shout", leaving the crowd smiling, yet demanding more(nobody left for a good five minutes after the final encore, the lights went on, and it was clear the fellas were not coming back, much to the dismay of us all). SETLIST(in no particular order): one wild night- you give love a bad name- it's my life- keep the faith/sympathy for the devil- captain crash & the beauty queen from mars- just older- i got the girl- pink cadillac- bad medicine- i'll be there for you- born to be my baby- someday i'll be saturday night- keep the faith- in these arms- i'll sleep when i'm dead- livin' on a prayer- wanted dead or alive- lay your hands on me- tequila-twist & shout.
