23 April 2001 - San Jose, CA, USA Concert Review 24 April 2001
Jon Bon Jovi injured his leg in San Jose, CA show

A review by Sam Mikelich / XGRIFFINX@JPS.NET

Just got home from an awesome show in San Jose, CA! As always, the band really outdid themselves with a fantastic lineup and unbelieveable energy.

Unfortunately, Jon injured his right knee or hamstring during Richie's solo in Bad Medicine. He was on the right side of the stage (past Huey) and decided to jump around by where they let those damned girls hang out at every show. Well, one of them grabbed for Jon just as he was jumping away and he landed on his right leg and hyper-extended his knee.

After standing still with an agonizing look on his face for about 20 seconds (which is an ETERNITY for Jon onstage) he hobbled back to center stage and finished the song. He kept the right leg completely locked stiff for about 5 minutes, then finally began bending the knee. In between the final songs, with the lights out, you could see him flexing the knee and grimacing.

The real news is later in Bad Medicine he got so into it- or frusterated- that he took of his vest and entirely RIPPED OFF is shirt! Topless Jon? I'm sure one of the female fans from the crowd will post pictures somewhere soon.

Here is the set list, somewhat in order:
One Wild Night/ Bad Name/ It's My Life/ Keep The Faith/ Born To Be My Baby/ Prayer/ Wild Is The Wind/ In These Arms/ Blood on Blood/ Just Older/ I'll Be There For You/ Lay Your Hands On Me/ Sleep When I'm Dead/ Bad Medicine/ (Encore) I Got The Girl/ Wanted Dead Or Alive/ (Encore 2) Tequila/ Twist and Shout
