24 November 2000 - St. Louis, MO, USA Concert Review 26 April 2001
What Is Wrong With 80's Music......Nothing!!!!

A review by IA JBJ FAN / edvancl@pcsia.com

Where do I begin. I am writing about this show nearly 6 months after it happened, but it is still as fresh in my memory as the second the lights went down for the final time.

I drove nearly 5 hours with my best friend to see the show. I have never had a better time in all of my life. We took a collection of all the essential BOn Jovi tapes with us, but some how Slippery When Wet never left the player.

When we finally arrive at the beautiful Savvis Center, I was so amazed by three things : 1.) How many people were actaully here, especially the day after Thanksgiving 2.) How friendly everyone was, and how eager they were to get inside 3.) The wide array of ages of people.

Less than Jake was Less than Good and it confused me why BJ had a ska band opening for them. Anyway, when the lights went down and the music started, I knew why I went all that way and payed all of the money for the tickets.........Bon Jovi kicks my ass.

Bon Jovi's music really does stand the test of time. Good music will always be good music no matter how old it is. Everyone sang every song word for word, people laughed, people cried and the bottom line.............for once, people finally got their 50 bucks worth at a concert.

I am an inspiring musician and after hearing Jon's heartfelt 10 minute plus rendition of SOmeday I'll Be Saturday Night, I walked out of the place with new found optimism about myself and our band. Hopefully, 20 years down the road when my band is on Behind the Music, I can tell Jon how much he did for us.
