24 March 2001 - Melbourne, Australia Concert Review 8 May 2001
One wild night well worth waiting for!!!

A review by Dira Redza / ms.dira@start.com.au

Wellll, it's been just over a month since the concert and my memories of it are just clear as they were when all my senses, and those of 35 thousand others, were treated to a specticle that blew our minds!!! This was my first Bon Jovi concert (I know, what on earth was I waiting for??) and I knew that it would be fantastic, but it went much further than being just fantastic. The guys gave it all they had and the crowd responded accordingly.
I had seats so I wasn't close to the stage, but it didn't make one bit of difference. As we were so far from the stage though, we staked out the area at the back where the guys were coming out. We waited well over an hour for them to show and we did get a quick glimpse before everyone bolted to their seats. What happened in the next hour and a half was really just absolutely mind engrossing.
The atmosphere was soooo electric, the stadium could've supplied all of Melbourne with electricity!!!
The songs they sang of course were all my favourites. The highlight of my night would have to be when we, the crowd, all just started singing "Lay your hands on me" before Jon had a chance to start the lead. His comments "I'm glad this is going to be on TV because no one would believe how beautiful it is from up here" made us scream and yell even more. As an Australian, the other highlight of the night as I experienced it was when Jon wore the Australian flag like a superman cape while doing "Bad Medicine".
And of course what would a review of the concert be without mentioning Jon's attire, tight gold pants and even a berray for the encore. The group has taste!!!
Some people complain and say they wanted more. More songs , a ballad, more, more, more... The truth is as Bon Jovi fans more will still never be enough. The guys came all the way out here, didn't get any revenue for it, and they put on a performance this little BJ chick will never forget.
I truly recommend those who haven't been, to get out there and find those tickets. One Wild Night with Bon Jovi, is what your promised and it's precisely what you get!!
To the boys, thank you for an experience I will always remember!!! May the happiness you brought everyone in your concerts be present in your lives and those of your families always. Ciao!!!
