5 June 2001 - Amsterdam, The Netherlands Concert Review 6 June 2001
Bon Jovi rocked the Amsterdam ArenA

A review by Marike - BonJoviJunkie / BonJoviJunkie@yahoo.com

Hello!!

Tuesday, June the fifth was THe big day for me and the other 59 999 other fans. It was my first BJ concert and hell, I didn't know what to expect from it. I'm not a member of BSWJBJ (not yet) so I didn't expect to be in the front rows and after all I heard from it I expected to be somewhere in the middle.

I was in front of the ArenA at 8.10 am and so i had to wait till 4 o'clock till the gates went open (they told us). it became 4.30 pm.

When the gates went open, I ran like an idiot to be in the pit and hell, I made it! I was at the second row so i had a perfect sight at the stage and I was standing in front of David.

We saw (and heard) the soundcheck of Kane and saw Kane themselves. Agter them (they were the first support act) came Anastacia and she was bad. I'm outta love, Not that kind were funny and Cowboys and kisses was great, because Richie played the guitar in that and he sung with her.
The rest of her perform had a high Barbie-and-Britney Spears level, wich you wouldn't see from her looks, she was dressed like some hardrock star, very bad and it seemed to take ages before she was finished and the BJ crew came on stage to make verything ready for BJ's perform.

Finally, at about 8.40 came BJ on stage, they did the lift-opener-act (or how do you say that) and they started to play one Wild Night. They rocked the whole damned ArenA form the first to the very last second!

Jon wore some tight leather jeans, an orange shirt and a denim jacket. He canged that for a black shirt and an alpinopet. For the encores he wore a blue shirt.
Richie wore some zebra printed blouse and a long black leather jacket, David some silver trousers and a black shirt and tico was all dressed in black leather and Hugh wore a shirt and jeans (I don't know exactly what he was wearing, ('m sorry)

They played:
One Wild Night, Raise Your Hands, You Give Love A Bad Name, Captain Crash and the Beauty Queen From Mars, Livin' On A Prayer, Born To Be My Baby, In These Arms, Say It Isn't So, I Got the Girl, Just Older, Hey God, Wild In the Streets, Blaze of Glory (wow, that song was sooo beatiful, tears came in my eyes), Lay Your Hands On Me, I'll Sleep When I'm Dead (Dancing In the Streets), Bad Medicine (Shout)

Encore 1: Something To Believe In (wow....great!!!), Keep the Faith (wow....great!!! again)
Encore 2: It's My Life, Wanted Dead Or Alive, Someday I'll Be Saturday Night

So it was a really cool concert and my faith in them growed and growed during the concert and is still growing. I'll never let them down and I'll take every cahnce to see them moe often, cause I don't wanna miss a thing sice yesterday night!

Have fun everyone whose concert is coming closer and closer every day! I hope you'll have a great night and I'm sure you have!!

Marike
