8 June 2001 - Glasgow, Scotland, UK Concert Review 9 June 2001

A review by Steve

Went along to Hampden yesterday with my girlfriend to see Bon Jovi for the first time. Didn't get a chance to see Delirious but we saw Matchbox 20 who came on about 7pm.

Bon Jovi came on the empire state building stage at 8:30pm with One wild Night followed by Raise your Hands. Jon Bon Jovi wore a cowboy hat and a thick jacket but he must have still been cold as he said "This is supposed to be summertime Scotland, i'm freezing my ass up here, does anyone want to give me a massage!"

Although it was really cold nobody cared as the crowd was jumping. He played most of his classics except Runaway and Always and the covers were really good aswell. "Shout" was really impressive and as i was in the stands it was good to the see about 20,000 people on the pitch with their hands in the air!

He seemed to really enjoy the atmoshpere and just when you thought that was the end he said "fuck it, i'm staying here!" Then he finished off with Tequilla followed by Twist and Shout.

At the very end there was a big firework display. It was a wild end to one very wild night!!!!
