13 June 2001 - Huddersfield, England, UK Concert Review 17 June 2001
OWN WILD BAND

A review by kathy / kathyv@tinyworld.co.uk

Well, where to begin?

The atmosphere in the middle of 40,000 people is something special and the anticipation was almost unbearable! BON JOVI made a great entrance at about 8:30 and played until 11:00. Apart from Bed Of Roses there were no ballads so it was 2 and half hours of rock. Kicked off with OWN and Raise Your Hands and played In These Arms, Prayer, Older, KTF, 100 years, Wild In The Streets, Next 100 Years, Wanted, Lay Your Hands, Bad Medicine, Saturday Night, Sleep When I'm Dead, Born To Be My Baby, Crash, Say It Isn't So, Bad Name, Its My Life, I Can't Help Fallin' In Love, Twist and Shout, and probably some others as well.

JON was in great form, he sounded great and looked great. His hair is getting long again and he really made you feel as if he was playing just to you. TICO hit the drums as if his life depended on it, DAVE was amazing too: getting the crowd going on Lay Your Hands and also playing with such passion. HUGH really ought to be a band member because, in spite of a very dubious shirt (LOL!), he is so sweet and talented and he and RICHIE play off each other really well. RICHIE is my hero and he played every song just for me. His voice was amazing and of course his playing was perfection. I am sure he should have changed his pants a few times as he appeared to be, well you know! Also, it was clear that the band is really close at the moment as the affection and camaraderie between them was really obvious.

Must give a mention to the support. DELERIOUS played for about half an hour and were really good. MATCHBOX 20 did an hour and I was very impressed by them. When I have replenished my finances I will probably pick a CD up. They have a new fan in me.

Truly One Wild Night! Still proud to be a fan after all these years and looking forward to Giants Stadium next month.

See Ya there!
KTF ALWAYS OR AT LEAST FOR THE NEXT 100 YEARS!
Kathy
