Bon Jovi - Bringing The People Together
|16 June 2001 - Milton Keynes, England, UK Concert Review
They New Jersey boys did it again. For 3 hours they rocked our worlds, and made the 8.30am start worth while. I won't go as far as saying it was better than Wembley, but then again I was otherwise entertained this time!
Being fan club members meant we had to queue seperately from the regulars to get into the pit, but still get soaked to the skin. But when there's Bon Jovi due on stage in the evening - who cares about the weather? It's just not clever to get up at 7am with a Hangover!!! I won't be doing that again.
Bon Jovi fans are amongst the friendliest in the business, and you always make new friends when you go to a gig. So much so, if you're lucky like me, you get a potential girlfriend out of it.
But what about the gig?! Well some good warming up was done by Delirious and Matchbox 20, but we were here for 5 men only!!
One Wild Night, Raise Your Hands, Faith, Prayer - you name it WE sang it. And by the look of things Jon enjoyed every minute of it, even looking ready to collapse at the end.
But when there's a gorgeous girl letting you put your arms around her, what better song than "I'll Be There For You" is there to get all emotional?!
Jon proceeded to make us laugh with this Tequila intro, about guys using gigs to find girls - well last night it was true for me. We all danced and boogied to Twist And Shout and then for the finale sang our hearts out to Saturday Night, and finally Prayer. It was sad to end the night, but it was all worth it.
I've made 3 great new friends at a Bon Jovi gig, potentially got a girlfiend out of it and enjoyed EVERY minute of the day. How I wish I was going to another gig!!!
